One of the problems with buying cycling clothing online is the multitude of sizing models in use. I can range from a Medium (which is slightly tight) to an XXL which fits well. If I was buying a jumper from a clothing store I would be certain that a size Large would be a good fit and my size 9/43 shoe size also delivers a shoe that fits wherever I purchase it from.
I have found a range which looks good, is well-priced, well made and has consistent sizing. Chapeau is the company name and I have purchased 6 or 7 tops, 2 bibs and a pair of bib shorts as well. All fit well and are very comfortable.
Free postage, a crash replacement policy and 90 day return service completes the package. I have had deliveries both to home and to a local cycle dealer which worked well (although I was not very happy that they took a photo of my passport which was my means of identification).
A quick look at some of their mens winter offering gives a flavour of their styling
They also offer limited edition tops – whatever that means. I am sure if someone ordered 10,000 tops they would be made available. I like this one celebrating the Roger de Vlaeminck who was, without doubt, one of the greatest riders the sport has seen on the brutal cobbles of Northern France, earning him the title of ‘Monsieur Paris-Roubaix’. Competing in the event on 14 occasions and winning on 4 of them.
I owe no allegiance to Chapeau but I do like their styling and fit and I am quite happy to support them.
